At Central Coast Waldorf School, athletics are far more than games on a field; they are an integral part of our students’ education and growth. Guided by long-time Waldorf educator Ms Parry, our athletics and movement program nurtures the whole child: body, soul, and spirit.

Our approach to sports reflects the core Waldorf values of balance, inclusion, and community. Students develop physical fitness and coordination while also strengthening social-emotional skills such as collaboration, empathy, and resilience. Rather than emphasizing competition or “winning,” our focus is on sportsmanship, self-discovery, and the joy of movement.

Building Confidence, Character, and Connection

We believe athletics offer a beautiful vehicle for learning life’s most meaningful lessons; grace in both victory and defeat, perseverance through challenges, and the ability to support others as part of a team. Every student is invited to participate; there are no tryouts. Instead, we emphasize inclusion, teamwork, and personal growth. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of sports, discovering which ones spark their enthusiasm and help them grow.

Our games and practices are spaces where students can make mistakes safely, learn through experience, and build confidence in their own abilities. These lessons carry beyond the court or field; students bring their growing self-assurance, focus, and leadership into the classroom and into daily life.

A Dynamic Year of Athletics

Each season brings new opportunities for teamwork and growth. With the guidance of dedicated coaches and supportive peers, our athletes develop not only their skills but also deep bonds of camaraderie and pride in representing the CCWS Dragons. The laughter, effort, and encouragement shared on our outdoor courts and fields create lasting memories and strengthen our school community.

Growing Together Through Sport

At Central Coast Waldorf School, athletics are about community and growth through movement. Students learn to respect their teammates, their opponents, and themselves. Whether they’re on the volleyball court, the basketball court, or the cross-country trail, they are embodying the values of balance, integrity, and joy that define Waldorf education.

We welcome parents, families, and friends to support our teams at games and meets throughout the year; come experience the spirit of the Dragons and the heart of our community!
