Location: Our school is located in Los Osos, a charming bayside community just 15 minutes from San Luis Obispo. Families from surrounding coastal towns such as Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, San Luis Obispo and greater San Luis Obispo county, make up our school community. The area offers abundant outdoor activities, including beach excursions, hiking, biking, surfing and exploration of a nearby state park. It is beautiful here!
Essential Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach 7th and 8th grade students, following the Waldorf curriculum and supporting the intellectual, social, and emotional development of each child.
- Create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and exploration.
- Foster a deep connection with students, modeling respect, kindness, and responsibility.
- Integrate subject areas in a way that sparks curiosity and imagination, including the main lessons, arts, music, movement, and practical activities.
- Provide individual support and work with our educational support teacher as needed to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Communicate effectively with parents about student progress, challenges, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives, festivals, and community activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to continue growing as a Waldorf educator.

Requirements: Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree.
- Waldorf Teacher Certificate or California Teaching Credential

- Provide general office managerial tasks and ensure a welcoming and professional front desk experience.
- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person with faculty and families.
- Maintain organized records for students and staff; manage filing systems.
- Enter daily attendance records.
- Manage school supply inventory and handle ordering and purchasing needs.
- Support newsletter creation, Friday update and school communications.
- Assist with enrollment and admissions-related tasks.
- Maintain and update contact information databases.
- Support outreach and marketing efforts, including materials production and social media.
- Provide before school care for students who need to be dropped off early
- Care for students who come into the office.
- Handle mail retrieval, timekeeping submissions, and onboarding of new hires.
- Keep the office space clean, orderly, and functional.
- Perform additional duties as needed (substitution, recess duties, etc.)

Position Overview:The Central Coast Waldorf School is seeking a caring, conscientious individual to join our Early Childhood faculty as an Assistant Teacher. The Early Childhood Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in the daily rhythm and care of the classroom, helping to create a warm, nurturing, and orderly space where the young child may thrive. This role offers the assistant an opportunity to observe and learn from an experienced Waldorf early childhood educator, while gaining practical experience in guiding young children in their play, transitions, mealtimes, and rest.
We are seeking someone who brings a gentle presence, a willingness to learn, and a sincere interest in the work of Waldorf education.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 25 - 35 hours / week; 7:30am - 1:00pm/3:00pm

Key Responsibilities
- Prepares a daily snack
- Assists the lead teacher with the supervision of students who may exhibit emotional or behavioral challenges
- Supervises students when lead teacher is occupied with other students or when directed by lead teacher to work with individuals or groups of students
- Supervises students during recess, snack, or lunchtime periods
- Assists with general maintenance and cleaning of early childhood classroom
- Assists with preparation of early childhood supplies and equipment
- Assists in supervision of students in outside early childhood spaces
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Meets regularly with lead teacher for planning and review of work
