Every gift supports the people, programs, and experiences that make our school special. From teachers who know our children deeply to music, handwork, Spanish, athletics, outdoor education, tuition assistance, and the traditions that connect our community, your generosity helps bring the Waldorf experience to life every day.
Why Annual Giving?
Annual Giving is a planned and essential part of how we fund a Central Coast Waldorf education. Like many independent Waldorf schools, we rely on a combination of tuition, charitable giving, and other sources of support to sustain our educational program. This shared approach allows our community to invest together in the learning environment we value.
Our $90,000 Annual Giving Fund goal is part of our annual operating budget, helping support excellent teachers, well-equipped classrooms, a welcoming campus, tuition assistance, and the rich variety of programs that make Waldorf education distinctive. Annual Giving isn't an emergency measure or an unexpected expense. It is an intentional part of how we sustain our school year after year.

You can also contribute through tuition adjustments, company matching programs, or wire transfers. Additionally, we gratefully accept gifts of stock. No matter how you give, your support is deeply appreciated and makes a meaningful difference.
What is the Giving Campaign?
The Giving Campaign is Central Coast Waldorf School's annual fundraising effort that invites our community to support the school beyond tuition, helping us strengthen and grow our programs for all students. Because tuition alone does not cover the full cost of providing a Central Coast Waldorf education.
Like many independent nonprofit schools, there is a gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of operating our school. AGF is one of the ways our community helps close that gap.
These gifts support the real, everyday work of our school—from teacher salaries and classroom resources to campus needs, specialty programs, tuition assistance, and the experiences that make a CCWS education what it is.
Why does the school need a Giving Campaign if we already pay tuition?
Tuition does not cover the full cost of a Waldorf education at our school, so the Giving Campaign helps bridge the gap by funding essential programs, staff, and long-term sustainability.
Fundraising allows our broader community to help bridge that gap while giving each family the opportunity to participate at a level that is meaningful and manageable for them.
How does my gift impact the school?
Your gift directly supports attracting and retaining our dedicated teachers, providing financial aid, funding essential administrative functions, and sustaining the long-term health of Central Coast Waldorf School.
What are the main areas my donation supports?
Donations help fund teacher salaries and benefits, financial aid for families, core programming, administrative operations, and costs such as lease payments that keep our campus thriving.
How much should I give?
We invite every family to give at a level that feels meaningful and sustainable for their situation, whether that is a leadership gift or a more modest contribution—participation at any level truly makes a difference.
Are there suggested giving levels?
Yes. The campaign describes ranges such as $2,500–$10,000+ for families who feel they can "make the difference", $1,000–$2,500 for those who can "take the leap", and $250–$1,000 for those who can "make the change", while emphasizing that every gift counts.
What if I am not able to donate financially right now?
If you are not able to give financially, you can still be "the heart" of the campaign by contributing your time and talents through volunteerism, which is deeply valued and essential to our school community.
We know that every family's circumstances are different. There is a place for everyone in this effort.
Our Heart Goal is about community, not pressure or comparison. We ask families to participate in whatever way feels possible and meaningful for them. And there are many ways to help beyond making a large financial gift: sharing the campaign with friends and family, checking for an employer match, volunteering, or simply helping others understand why this school matters.
WHAT IS THE HEART GOAL?
Our Heart Goal is 100% family participation.
It isn't about every family giving the same amount. It is about every family being invited to participate. For one family, that may mean $10. For another, $100. For another, $1,000 or more. Every gift counts toward the Heart Goal because every family is an important part of this community. We open up access to more grants and funding with a community donating to our school.
What are the ways I can make a gift?
You can give online through the school’s secure portal, in person at the office, or by mail, and you may also contribute through tuition adjustments, company matching programs, wire transfers, or gifts of stock.
Can my employer match my donation?
Many companies offer matching gift programs, and the Giving Campaign welcomes these matches as a powerful way to increase the impact of your contribution at no additional cost to you.
Are gifts tax-deductible?
Yes, qualifying donations to Central Coast Waldorf School may be tax-deductible, and there is a new benefit for many donors in 2026.
Beginning this year, taxpayers who do not itemize may deduct up to $1,000 in qualifying cash charitable contributions, or up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly, in addition to taking the standard deduction.That means more families may be able to receive a tax benefit from supporting our school, even if they do not normally itemize their deductions.
As always, please keep your donation receipt for your records and consult your tax professional regarding your individual circumstances and eligibility.
Why is participation important even if I can only give a small amount?
High participation demonstrates strong community commitment, encourages outside support, and shows our teachers and students that many hands and hearts are invested in the future of the school.
