“A healthy social life is found when
in the mirror of each human soul the whole community finds its reflection,
and when in the community the virtue of each one is living.”
- Rudolf Steiner
Tuesday Tea
A special place for our community to gather weekly to connect, share, and explore the current moment and be held in community, after drop off.
Volunteer
Central Coast Waldorf School invites our community to participate in supporting our school through volunteerism. Whether you build picnic benches or chaperone field trips, guest lecture or bake, your efforts help build a strong sense of community and keep our school thriving.
In the Classroom
We value parent involvement and support of the Class Teacher. We know that many hands make light work; and, coming together with other parents to support special projects strengthens the classroom culture. Parents can help in many ways, such as: chaperoning field trips, volunteering for special class events, and working on a craft or sewing project. Additionally, parents in each class volunteer for these roles:
Class Parent
The class parents within each class helps foster a sense of community between teacher, parents and the school. Their role is to provide support, information and communication within the classroom. While class parents coordinate plans between parents, teachers and administrative staff, everyone is expected to help.
Parent Association
Any adult member of the Central Coast Waldorf School is automatically a member of the Parent Association. This includes CCWS faculty, staff, parents, immediate and extended family and caregivers of students attending CCWS. The mission of the Parent Association is to enhance the educational experience for all students by fostering a strong connection between the school, its families, and the community. The CCWSPA aims to do this through volunteerism, fundraising and building community connections.
The Parent Association is led by two co-chairs, Allison Paquette and Stephanie Murtaugh. Please reach out to the PA co-chairs at [email protected] with any questions.
Welcome Beach Bonfire
To kick off the school year, the Parents Association hosts a community beach bonfire and putluck. This has become a wonderful tradition to come together as a community, reconnect our energy at the start of the year, and welcome our new families.
Game Night
Hosted by the Parent Association and held in the fall and spring, this night of socializing with grown-ups is pure gold. We’ll spend our evening in cozy cohorts of good people, rotating through a set of hosted game rooms. Accompanied by dinner, beer & wine, excellent company, laughing, maybe some dancing – everyone is winning, no matter how the games go.
Clothing Swap / "Revived Goods"
Hosted by the Parent Association, bring your pre-sorted & labeled and very gently warn, unwanted fashion items and leave with a new-to-you wardrobe! A fun event for the whole family.
SPRING GALA
This memorable event is a fabulous triple-whammy:
1) a great party night with our superstar community;
2) a thrilling dose of anticipation with our stellar auction;
3) our biggest fundraiser of our several annual events.
An evening ball for the adults in our community, the Spring Gala & Auction brings together a night of entertainment, fine nourishment and dazzling refreshments, top notch company, and superb auction items. Our entire parent-body is asked to participate by: 1) contributing and procuring auction items AND 2) to prioritize attending for the benefit of all. Attending the Gala brings a spirit of connection, collaboration, and shared commitment to our beautiful, one-in-a-million community. A small committee of parents helps produce this lovely evening, with volunteer support.
