Opening Statement
Central Coast Waldorf School, on the Central Coast of California, is seeking an enthusiastic Spanish teacher who brings joy, warmth, and creativity to the classroom. The ideal candidate is inspired by the developmental approach of Waldorf education, is a native speaker and can engage students through songs, stories, conversation, games, cultural activities and grammar in the Spanish language. About
Central Coast Waldorf School is a vibrant school with 130 children, from preschool through 8th grade. We are a 17-year-old school with healthy enrollment, strong community support and we are certified by WECAN and AWSNA. We offer specialty programs in Spanish, Math, Handwork, Movement, Strings Ensemble, and Education Support. We are proud to have a highly experienced and committed faculty, along with a supportive and engaged parent body. Location: Our school is located in Los Osos, a charming bayside community just 15 minutes from San Luis Obispo. Families from surrounding coastal towns such as Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, San Luis Obispo and greater San Luis Obispo county, make up our school community. The area offers abundant outdoor activities, including beach excursions, hiking, biking, surfing and exploration of a nearby state park. It is beautiful here!
Essential Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and teach Spanish language classes in grades 1st - 8th
Assess student proficiency and write reports 2 times per year
Create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that encourages speaking, listening, and thinking in Spanish
Collaborate and communicate with lead class teachers and parents
Contribute to school festivals, events, and performances
Perform recess supervision duties
Participate in professional development and ongoing study of Waldorf education
Participate in all-faculty meetings
Employment Details
This is an hourly position that pays $30.00 - $40.00/ class period, depending on qualifications and experience

Requirements
Qualifications
A Waldorf Teacher certificate, California credential or experience teaching
Proficiency in Spanish and fluency in oral and written communication, a native speaker
Experience teaching Spanish to children, preferably in Grades 1–8
Familiarity with, or interest in, Waldorf education and its approach to language learning
Ability to foster a positive and creative learning environment
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
