We are thrilled to invite you to be with us at our annual Open House event, Saturday, Feb 28. During this special event, we invite prospective families to experience the unique benefits and character of our school, guided by the principles of Waldorf education (Preschool - 8th grade). Our day will begin with a welcoming brunch and a big-picture discussion about the goals and philosophies that underpin Waldorf pedagogy and the unfolding of the curriculum in the classroom. Next you’ll spend some time in the classrooms with teacher demonstrations, allowing for a hands-on experience of the "how" of Waldorf Education. Our day will conclude with a Q&A and discussion with our alumni panel.

  • Experience a warm, engaging introduction to Waldorf education and how it supports the whole child from preschool through middle school.

  • Tour classrooms and see real examples of the hands-on, arts-integrated curriculum in action.

  • Meet teachers and staff, ask questions, and get a feel for the community and school culture.

  • Learn about the admissions process and next steps so you know exactly how to move forward for your family.

Applications for the 2026/27 school year will become available to families after visiting with our program.  For priority admissions, completed applications are due by Friday, March 13th.

Central Coast Waldorf School strives to awaken and ennoble capacities within the growing child, rather than focus on providing bits of information. From our perspective, we learn best when our whole self is engaged in the learning process. This deeper learning means that we should not only have thoughts about information, but we should feel something and be engaged in our motivation, as well. We call this approach an education of the "head, heart, and hands."

We achieve these goals by employing methodology that engages nature, the imagination, curiosity, reverence, and purposeful work. Additionally, the quality of the teacher relationship is an invaluable pathway to the deepest level of engagement, growth, and learning.  At Central Coast Waldorf, a foundation will be laid where the child can begin the journey towards balance in feeling, initiative in action, and clarity of thought.

Central Coast Waldorf School is nestled in Los Osos, California, home to remarkable and unparalleled natural beauty that enriches the soul. Our school site enjoys the natural grace of a tidal estuary, a four-mile sand strand, eucalyptus groves, and a view of Morro Rock, just to the north of our quiet community. Our home is a hidden gem of the Central Coast, blessed by nature trails and ecological wonders. We are a short 15-minute drive, across lush farm fields and roaming cattle amidst rolling hills, from the slightly more bustling city of San Luis Obispo. Our community provides our children with a rich, inspiring environment to thrive in, where "nature walks" are just outside the classroom door.
