Solstice Spiral
11/30/2023 — 12/01/2023 at 12:00AM - 11:59PM PST
During this time of year, we hold space to recognize the shortest day of the year and the return to light with a simple festival, the Solstice Spiral. During the Solstice Spiral, we gather quietly to walk a spiral path of evergreens toward an illuminating center candle, mirroring our inner quest for the light. Each student is given a turn to make their way through the spiral, to the center, where a candle sits to represent our innermost light. There, the child lights their own candle and places it along the spiral, tracing the path out of the spiral while the light of many slowly grows. This is a celebration of quiet, of carrying light into the darkness, and sharing that light with others.(Specific time assigned to each class. In the evening.)
