Friday Update 1/31/25 Dear Wishing Well Families, Happy Lunar New Year! We had the amazing opportunity to have the Cal Poly Lion Dance Team come and bless our school today. The students watched in awe at the acrobatics and blinking eyes of the lions as they danced energetically throughout the classes. "It is believed that the lion dance tends to drive away all the negative energy and evil spirits and brings prosperity, wisdom, positivity, liveliness, good luck and fortune." Thank you to our Board of Directors, the Parent Association, the Athletic Director, and the Treasury, Marketing and Fundraising Pillars, for a very informative Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday night. Notes from the meeting and a video recording will be coming soon. Enjoy the weekend! This performance was playful and beautifully done. The lion dance is a type of traditional dance in China and other Asian countries. Its purpose is to bring good luck and fortune, which we were happy to receive! Sunflower Kindergarten enjoy eating mandarins and sculpting snakes. In honor of the Chinese New Year, 1st grade deep cleaned their classroom to wash out the old year. They practiced drawing snakes in the shaving cream used to clean their desks.
